Mr David Cox

I recently had a total knee replacement as an NHS patient at New Hall Hospital and received excellent care from all members of staff, including medics, nurses and physiotherapists. I was also provided with helpful literature for guidance at home. One week after discharge the senior nursing officer also rang me to check my progress - what excellent care. I felt very confident in my surgeon, Mr David Cox, who was not only highly skilled and considerate but also explained clearly the nature of the operation, as well as the risks and potential benefits of the procedure. His consultations and reviews were always evidence-based and focussed on the task in hand but never rushed. Thanks to Mr Cox, after only a few weeks from discharge, I am fit and fully mobile. i am most grateful. William (Terry) Clayton

Mr Cox whom I found was very caring and kind. He also reassured me each time I had a query, of my recovery. I do not need to comment on improving my care as I found every one during my after care was excellent.

Excellent care and service from the very beginning of my shoulder replacement. Explained everything thoroughly and put my mind at rest throughout my care. Brilliant result, I am three months on from my op and getting more use of my shoulder everyday. Cannot Thank Mr Cox enough and can’t wait to get back in for the other shoulder that has the same problem. Thank you Mr Cox and the team.

Very pleased with the care I got from start to finish. All staff were excellent and I was looked after brilliantly. Mr Cox was easy to talk to, explained everything fully and came to see me each day. The scar that I have is extremely neat and tidy and you can barely see it now only some 5 weeks on from the op. Although I still have some pain it is manageable and I am nearly back to normal with walking and everyday life which is remarkable in such a short time and I feel is down to the care and treatment provided by Mr Cox. Will definitely want him to do my other knee when the time comes.

I had my right hip replaced by Mr Cox in November2019. My Cox explained the procedure very clearly beforehand and I felt that I was in good hands. The operation went well and my subsequent recovery has been excellent. I was well looked after during my hospital stay by both the nursing staff and physio team. If I have to have my other hip replaced I would want Mr Cox to undertake the operation.
